I have printed out the batch numbers given on the website for Aguascalientes, but the year I need is not on the list. Under birth, I need 1882. Can anyone tell me where I can find birth records for that year? I am looking for Cruz Bustamante B. 1882. I can't seem to find his parents. I have found another Cruz Bustamante born in 1878 which could be his father, but I'm not sure. Any help will be appreciated.

missing batch numbers

sometimes there are missings years for records so trying another source, like a civil birth registration instead of a baptism could help. I've found when I can't find a marriage record sometimes a marriage information record gives me information I need. Sometimes I just have to accept that I'm not going to find an exact date because there are no records surviving for those years.

just a suggestion,
Linda in Everett

Hi Linda,

This might be a dumb question but since I'm new to this and I can't find certain people. Is there a way to see or get a hold of these civil registrations on line?

missing batch numbers

Hi Sofia,

they are available just like the other records at your family history center. You order them the same way as the baptism and church marriages. I'm not sure what state or city you're searching in but the list of what they offer would be in your Familysearch.com site. For some reason the Familysearch.com online shows only church records but the others are available to order to be read at the center. Sometimes they even give more information than church records such as ages of parents at birth registrations where baptism records don't usually give ages. Accept age's with a grain of salt since they can be off by many years especially when they are guessed at by other people giving the information. I have one record where my ancestor is listed as age 50 at his second marriage when he was actually over 70! He must have been spry since he had 2 children with his 38 year old wife!

good luck in your search, Linda in Everett

This too may sound dumb too but are the civil registration records the same
as the vital records index?

from what I've found the Vital Records Index are baptisms... I think... I still have no idea why they are separate from just regular baptisms but they usually include more information. They are different from region to region too. In Jerez Zacatecas I've found very few marriage or death records online unless they've been entered by an individual and not through the history center. In Zapotlan El Grande and Tamazula Jalisco I find marriage records complete with parents included and sometimes even where they are from. Good question!
