Dear Patricia,

Ascención de León Family
Thanks for your help! You've helped alot with my
genealogy! One little branch can spark new flames!
(Tello de Orozco) Regarding towards the Liebanos it
seems all the kids took on the mother's last name,
except their first son who was named after his father
another Juan, the last name is actually Ascención de
León (I couldnt find my link to the liebano, it was a
night mare! I had no idea my Gerónima liebano was
daughter of a León on family search i would always
search as the father Liebano! Never got results! Do
you have any more info on that family (Asensión de
León?) I stop at Juan ca. 1625. Now i descend 3 times
from him.

Velázquez de Lara
I found Francisco's marriage in Guadalajara to María
Rojas; need to order that.

I guess your hisband and I are related through the
Orozcos!

I was also wondering what else do you have on the
Gómez de Espejo, I always heard of
them but didnt know I descend from them till now!

The Spaniards drive me crazy! Our ancestors used like
10 names to refer to them selves and it is the same
person! Who knew Antonia Martín, Antonia del Campo,
Antonia López and Antonia de la Cruz could be the same
person! My family kinds still does that but not too
much in the US just in México, My grandfather used
Antonio López when marriage, Antonio del Camino when
baptised, Antonio López de Elisalde in the US he being
married to my gm they share the same pedigree since
their cousins 2nd. A funny story, When my mom was born
they asked is she your child? And he said of course,
him being López de Elisalde and my mom recieving
García del Camino??? I was laughing at this story! The
doctors were curious! I find it curious my mother
refers to herself as Mexicana while her parents "son
Español". My identity is lost! I suppose? I usually
say "yo soy Español" Do you have any similar
experiances? Thought this was fun to share! The
Spanish have funny nameing systems!

Thanks! -Daniel
