Hello,

Back in 2002 my wife, Figen and I were involved in a serious car
accident in which a drunk driver crashed into us. We survived but I was
out of work for about 6 months and during that time I googled "Puentes"

Jose Maria Casillas Hermosillo de Gonzalez

Que tal,

I saw your posting on your website.  The Hermosillo family name is truncated from the Casillas family name.  We've been using birth certificates and previous work done by Alberto Casillas in his book titled the "Casillas" to trace back the Casillas family .

Dumb question...

How do we know whether certain Gonzalez families are "Hermosillo or "Rubalcaba, or...?"
Is there a way to figure this out if a record does not specify? Are certain towns/villas presumed to be Gonzalez de xxx???

Lester,

I am confused. I found this website about several "Ruta de Plata"s in Europe and the New World. It has a map of the Mexican Ruta de Plata that goes from Mexico City northward to Santa Fe, and branches from Mexico City to the ports at Acapulco and Vera Cruz. It doesn't show the Ruta going to Nuevo Leon, only through the states of Guanajuato, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas, Durango, Chihuahua, and ending in Santa Fe in New Mexico. The text only mentions mines and cities along the route through those states.

Rick, I'm jealous already, how nice to be able to spend a couple of weeks doing research.

I will have the luxury of a few days only and most likely it will not be at Easter time but maybe the three of us can meet up. I can try to schedule my visit on the days that you and Maureen would be there next year. I hope it works out.

Rocamonte

Someone inquired about a place known as Rocamonte. I personally have no knowledge of this place, so I went to the LINKS section of NUESTROS RANCHOS (it is part of the title banner). Once on the LINKS page I looked under GEOGRAFIC AND LOCALITY INFORMATION, and then to ZACATECAS MUNICIPALITIES. On this page there is a BUSCAR button (Find), and I was able to enter "Rocamonte". The only thing that came up was information related to Rocamonte was the following (and this appears to NOT be a settlement) in the municipality of Concepcion de Oro:

Treminos from Saltillo and Viesca, Coahuila

By campezina | Tue, 2008-12-09 02:30

Hello, All!

I am looking for further information on these Treminos. Does anyone recognize them?

I am not finding much information on them. Although I have found information saying that they were from Saltillo, Coahuila they seem to have many connections to Zacatecas. Can anyone help? The family says they were from Saltillo.
