When gathering LDS records is it assumed that when they "Nochistlan, Zac." they mean Nochistlan de Mejia, Zac. or do they mean the smaller town to the North East called simply Nochistlan. Or perhaps this is an entirely different place than two I am considering?
Thanks

Nochistlan didn't become Nochistlan de Mejia until the 1900's and thus it's one and the same Nochistlan, unless you're referrring to Nochistlan in Oaxaca.

Nochistlan (de Mejia) - lost & found

Thanks Daniel & Alicia for clarifying. I thought that was the case. How nice it would be to have a Nuestros Ranchos gazetteer.

Yes, they are the same, Nochistlan de Mejia is the complete name, hence why onlythe Registro Civil (Government use it) and the Parish (church) simplycall it Parroquia de Nochistlan.
