Does anyone know the modern name for 18th century Villa/Valle de Carrizal, Nuevo Leon?  I've tried several sources and have come up empty.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank so much,  Alice

Valle del Carrizal / Ciénega de Flores

According to these official webpages, Valle del Carrizal would be today's Cienega de Flores:

http://www.e-local.gob.mx/work/templates/enciclo/nuevoleon/municipios/1…
http://www.cienegadeflores.gob.mx/

HISTORIA

Thank you so much for your help.  I had also heard and read of
Cienega de Flores and didn't know they were the same place!  I'm going to have to be patient, because I don't currently see either listed
on the pilot site for church records of Nuevo Leon.   At least now thanks to your help, I'll know what to look for.   Alice

Ciénega de Flores church records

Hi Alice,
It seems that the Familysearch team did not microflm the church records for Cienega de Flores. In their Family History Library Catalog they only have the 1930 census and the 1863-1930 civil records, which are not available online yet. Don't look for them anymore in the Pilot.familysearch site since it seems they won't update that database anymore. All the updates will go to the Beta.familysearch.org website, around the beginning of each month or so.
If you are in Monterrey, Mexico, they may have microfilms for the church records at the ITESM library.
Regards,

Victoriano Navarro

Ciénega de Flores church records

Thank you, Victoriano.  I'm not in Monterrey, so I'll check the beta site each month.  Out of curiosity...what does ITESM stand for?  Thanks again,  Alice

Cienega de Flores records in Salinas Victoria

Hi Alice,
ITESM is a private university with campi or campuses all over Mexico, but the main one is in Monterrey. It is the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. They have a collection of microfilms with records from Nuevo Leon and Coahuila (very little from Moterrey, though), including some not found in the FamylySearch collection.
I am checking in beta.familysearch the church records from Salinas Victoria, NL: Matrimonios 1755-1835
On image #2 the title says: ARCHIVO DE LA PARROQUIA DE SALINAS Y CIENEGA DE FLORES.
So it seems that the church records from Cienega de Flores are mixed with the ones from Salinas; both towns shared their records in the same book, and it is online.
Bye!
