In researching the marriage of Anna(Ana) Gertrudis Baldes(aka.Balades) Sta Maria de los Lagos Morenos 1761 to Vicente(Visente) Cervantes (Servantes) I came across a baptismal record (1744) however it says source film: unknown. How else can I look this up/find it? It says that her parents were Bacilio Balades & Maria Manuela Gomes.

You can get film numbers for the batch numbers from the FHL Parish and Vital Records index (this is a microfiche; there is no computer index). This can be somewhat hard to find; the LDS family history centers should have it, but may not. This is actually an old source, so some of the volunteers may not be aware of it.

The basic information you need is country, state/province, and town (ocassionally specific church in the town if it is a large town/city).

You can get them from the Films area of NR at http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/films for some localities.

You can also do a google search for IGI batch numbers, a number of sites will come up. One of best one for Mexican Records is http://mexicoigibatchnumbers.wetpaint.com/

However, the secondary lists of batch numbers are not necessarily complete.

Hello,

The corresponding film number to the C60412-7 batch number is 0221409 which covers the years 1738-1745 for Lagos.

Also, if anyone wants copies of the Parish and Vital Records Index, I can send them a .pdf file of for the Mexican state that you need. Contact me directly by private email. Many years ago, I scanned the whole Parish and Vital Record list, for Mexico, Central and South America.
