Atencion ELoise Gomez- Reynoso

Of course times have change but in Mejico we still see the Spaniard Mexicans hold the power same here, Im Spanish I can see alot of racisms still in Mejico. In Aguas or Los Altos wherever their is the majority of white people (like Los Altos) they still have this white is good status. We're very conservative in everything. If a someone different other than white were to walk in lets say our hacienda you would want to get out of there, they stare the person down. MY family too only mixed inside with cousins 7 families total to evade the 'bad people' (So I hear.) My family believed and some still do if you dont have blonde hair and blue eyes something is wrong with you; all most all of us came out like that. Some of us namly me came out with light brown hair and bue eyes. My grandfather doesnt like Barack Obama simply because he is liberal, but I know him way more than that, because Obama is not white, my grandfather doesnt like him. Yes, Spaniards and Mexican Spaniards can be
very white supremacist people in the US say no they're not. I did not come out racist, wI think my siblings and I came out more prejudice which is bit better than hating others. Sorry if I offend anyone, but I am too Spanish ad have learn alot about society in Mejico. -Daniel

Daniel,
I hope that you take my comments in the helpful manner in which they are intended. If you are truly concerned about offending people with racist comments, then please stop. It's unsettling that a young person appears to embrace such views and seems to take delight in flaunting them. Certainly, as a member of this group, I honor and appreciate my ancestors--Basque and others, but I won't perpetuate their mistakes. Today, informed and self-confident people throughout the world embrace and celebrate diversity. They don't fear it. Best wishes, Alice B. Blake

Yes, Daniel,

It is unsettling and tiresome, this reiteration of the superiority felt by some "Spaniards". We are left to wonder why you take such delight in repeating it, and I question your self-confidence; but I understand that you are so young and have much to learn yet. We are all aware of racism everywhere, it is unproductive to dwell on it. You have so much to offer at your age, your future is ahead of you; don't get sidetracked with an uninformed obsession that doesn't reflect well on you. You admire royalty and royals have the best manners, and would never point out such differences. I hope you appreciate our well-intended remonstrance. I am much happier embracing diversity, and like Alice says, I don't perpetuate my Mexican Basque father's prejudices. People can't be happy when they are always tense about the color of people around them. Best to look at people's character, than their complexion; one has nothing to do with the other.
