When an image is difficult to read,
try clicking on the invert button on
the tool bar. The background becomes
dark and the letters white, sometimes
making the words much easier to decipher.

Improving images

Another suggestion: save the image, then try adjusting the contrast and/or the brightness with picture viewing software.

Some software will have an "auto-fix" feature which tries to optimize the image. This may be the best place to start.
