I'm trying to determine the name of the padrinos for Ramón Becerra Ledesma, Purísima del Rincón. It looks like Don Alberto F? y Doña Aurelia Franco. Is anyone familiar with Alberto's surname? I was surprised that they didn't list paternal/maternal grandparents as well.

I was also curious about the use of Don/Doña here. I understand it is a title of respect, but haven't seen it previously in baptism records. It's used for Ramón's father as well.

I believe Ramón was my father's grandfather - though my father had told us that he was not accepted by his grandfather as his mother was "Mexican" and not "Spanish." If anyone has any info on this family, it would be appreciated.

Help with name & use of "Don"

Looks like it is don Alberto Ferrero and Dona Aurelia Fererreo. Regarding Dn and Dna, they are commonly used in baptism records.

Help with name & use of

I think both godparents have the surname Ferrero, like the Italian chocolatier.
As for the use of Don/Doña, I have seen church record books from other places (Coahuila, Nuevo León, etc.) where they call pretty much everyone that way.

Regards,
Victoriano Navarro
