Below *News and updates to the new family search *is a header *Family Search

*Search *or you can just scroll down all the way to Mexico. You should find
what you are looking for there.

Esther ----I get the message below when I tried the link for new.familysearch and was asked to enter my account. I am not an LDS member, but I once tried to download their program to help them index, etc, but my computer could not handle the program.

Your account is not ready for new.familysearch.org.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You will be informed by your priesthood leaders when your area can use the system. Members should use their LDS Account.
Volunteers who previously used new.familysearch.org.
Click here to combine your previous and new accounts.
General public. Look for a future announcement when you will have access to new.familysearch.org.
Close

I also got a message that said that my current screen resolution is not supported by the new Family Search, that a minimum resolution of 1024 X 768 pixels is recommended. I have no idea what they are talking about.

I hate the new Family Search. I still rely on the Beta format they have and the plain old search that lets you get into each batch, etc. If it wasn't broke, why try to "fix" things?

Emily,
When you go to the LDS Website *don't try to sign in *just follow the order
I sent. I got in without signing in. Also note that there may be a few
bugs they are dealing with right now with new computers. I don't have a lot
of knowledge about computers so I can't help there. I would suggest you
keep trying several times a day and a few more days. I believe once they
work out all the bugs you should have no problems *just don't try signing
in.

Rachel Ruiz Emily Esther and everybody

Thank you Jaime, Ester and Welester for taking the time to respond. I can
access it now. Like Emily, I cannot locate a way to access the batch lists
via the new website, so rely on the old one for that. I have emailed
Arturo Cuellar on that question and will post his response.

For Rachel Ruiz

Hi Esther and all,
Are there plans to allow the selection of gender when researching a name on the new and improved version?  On the pilot version it helps bring down the thousands of results to a more manageable number.  It seems like a reasonable request to me, but then I am not computer savvy.   Thank you,  Alice

For Rachel Ruiz

I had an uncle (just passed away recently) who could never get *church
records *changed to reflect that *he* was not a *she*. He was listed as
Patricia. He finally gave up and changed his name to Salvador.

Good luck!

You're absolutely right.  However, when I see literally thousands of results it overwhelms me and I'd rather go through the "correct" gender first, and then if I don't have success, I tackle the rest.
