Does anyone know of a good reference on genetic testing for genealogy and for population migrations/studies that one does not need to be a geneticist to read?

population migrations/studies

Hi George,
I don't know of a book, but the National Geographic Genographic Project website has a lot of information (in layman's terms), and includes a few interested graphics.

I would start looking there.
https://genographic.nationalgeographic.com/genographic/index.html

Here is their list of publications for further reading:
https://genographic.nationalgeographic.com/genographic/lan/en/resources…

I hope this helps.

Population Migration Studies

Hi George,

The National Geograpic website is an excellent source for genetic understanding/questions. The Genographic Project is extremely interesting -- Nat Geographic put together a documentary a couple of years back and I think you can access it through their site. jgm

Thanks for replies!

Thank you to all who replied to my query.

I saw the National Geographic Genographics Project special when it came on TV; I thought it was well done. They presented quite a lot of information. Watching it again would certainly be beneficial. This might clear up many of the questions about what these studies tell us, and perhaps more importantly in some cases, what they don't.
