i found a marriage dispensation for the couple. go to page 258 and read the right page carefully. you'll find how the couple relate to each other. i also learned from that some people in this family had the last name de aro instead of miramontes.

Speechless

Wow...I was speechles when I read this dispensa, again. As you turn the pages, the amount of information is incredible. This is the first time I've seen this much ancestry information included in one dispensa.

Also, it appears to me that the first page of the dispensa is written by Antonio Miramontes, himself. It is written in first person and it sounds like Antonio is pleading his case. I was very moved by this. Can anyone help me confirm this?

Thanks!

P.S. Roy, the information in this dispensa confirms the suggestion I made to you via email.

for anyone who has antonio

Thanks, that confirms what I thought I knew.

Although Hernando de Haro and Lorenzo de Miramontes are brothers using different last names, they are both my 9X Great Grandfathers. I guess that makes me a cousin to myself?

Thanks

Katy,

This dispensation really helped me, and there are a few members here that have discussed this couple and may benefit from your work. I believe this dispensation proves that my ancestors, Antonio Miramontes and his wife Maria Theresa Munoz are cousins. Their common ancestor is their great great grandparents Juan Miramontes and Maria Haro y Saucedo.

Also, of much interest is the marriage dispensation you found of Francisco Guzman and Maria Teresa after Antonio Miramontes dies. This solved the mystery for me as to why Francisco Guzman was living in the house of Maria Theresa Munoz who is listed as a widow in the Tlaltenango census of 1754.

This connected my family tree to the Haro/Saucedo/Miramontes/Lopez/Ortiz de San Pedro/ Lopez de Ayala families.

Again, good job and thanks, because this helped prove some theories that I had been working on for some time.
